There's one day where I sat outside just to enjoy the clear night sky, thinking about how incredible my current life is. I'm 25 and questioning if I'm feeling a quarter-life crisis or not. Well, probably, but I think I'm not feeling it. Because I just want to dedicate the rest of my life working towards my goals instead of worrying about what the future will bring.

Energy is our best asset at this age. Because though I have time, if I didn't have the energy, I won't ever reach my goals. So that, I'm protecting it, at all cost.

Here are what I do to help myself protect my energy so that I can focus on reaching my goals:

1. Let them live

I look at many people debating with strangers on social media. Otherwise, I am not interested in doing it. I have zero interest in giving a spotlight to somebody who is insignificant in my life. Just let people live as long as they didn't harm you. It will bring peace to yourself. Believe me. If you didn't like someone, simply cut them off. You can cut people off out of your life without hating them.

2. Write every day

Writing has been my favorite activity since I was a kid. I keep so many diaries. I write every day about my experience, my feelings, my people, and all my prayers. To me, writing is praying. I asked God a lot of questions, and somehow He answered them. Writing also a form of meditation for me. It cures my anxiety and brings mental clarity. You won't feel the benefit of writing unless you write daily, for years.

3. I said "no" to almost everything

Saying no is essential. You gotta know your priority. I pay attention to my body's reaction towards someone or something. How your body reacts when you're with somebody else is a signal. If I didn't like someone's energy, I'd often say no. How your body reacts when you're making a decision is also a signal. If I didn't like it, I am not going to go for it.

4. Workout and get enough sleep

When in doubt, move your body! One of the reasons why you feel anxious and can't focus during the day was because of your hormonal imbalance. I did a dance workout three times a week, and I get rid of lack of sleep. Because if I sleep less than seven hours, I couldn't be productive.

5. To compare is human

At this age, some people will be comparing you to other people. They forgot that we all have different benchmarks for what we called success. Stay focus because to compare is our nature as a human.

6. Forgive yourself

Don't be too hard with yourself. If you had flaws, others have it too. Forgive yourself for having limits. Do not judge yourself too early. Your haters out there will be doing that for you; for free.

7. Live mindfully and enjoy little things

Sometimes all you need is to take one deep breath and slowing down your speed. Feel that breath, and give thanks for the chance to live one more day on this earth. Enjoy little things in life. Made your favorite drinks while enjoying the birds chirping, play with your cats, read books, call your best friends, or dance to your favorite music. If you had an internet connection, a healthy body, a roof above your head, eat three times a day, you are already above average. So many people praying and strive hard just to be in your position.

8. Family first

I saw people use their phones while hanging out with their families. Please, avoid that. Technology won't die, but people will pass away. Put your family at the top of your priority.

9. Be honest with yourself and others

Learn to tell someone that you appreciate them, missing them, or are disappointed in them. Make it clear. Do not hold your feelings.

10. Find a mentor

If you were sad or lonely, find a new circle. Loneliness is a sign of being around the wrong people. Reach out to someone you can talk to. Read books, experience it. Listen to podcasts. Work for someone that inspires you. Do that both online or offline.
